But it may take time to finish (nothing special, but I need an education too, y'know). Still, from what I've done so far, it should be good(ish). I'm no good with music, so if anyone has any ST musics feel free to send them to the address in Part 1. All you'll get is a mention in the credits, but that's all I get either. You may even get a big flashy screen at the beginning saying "All Musics By .....". Still, I can always attempt musics if the need arises. Well, that's about all from me. All that remains now is the Char. set (But I'll make this one different. I'll group the chars. together.) Numbers : 0123456789 Caps Lock On : ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ Caps Lock Off : abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz Symbol Shift : !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~ 1 This part, as you'll have no doubt guessed, is the greetin's part. First though, an apology about the previous part. . . . Sorry, but to make the scroller smooth, the "Bouncy" logos had to be slow. Also, the middle one flickered at the bottom. Still, nevermind because this is the most important (?) part of any demo . . . . The Greetin's! 1 The actual messages are in the two scrolls below. This scroll is just more of the usual stuff (Gossip, etc.) which isn't that important, but will make the demo last longer (more to read)... About This Part... 1 I'm writing this text before actually checking if this part works, so hopefully what is happening is this . . . . . . There are 3 diagonal scrollers, the top 2 of which scroll up and down, the bottom one just up. They all use the same font, but the top two print it on alternate lines. The observant of you will notice that there is no sound. This is because of my Sound-Tracker (see Debut:Part 1), although I'll try and get it working for use in Part 3. There are no flashing colours or whatever, this is just a simple 3-scroll Greetings part. Having said all of that, when this part is finished, it will probably flicker. Still, so long as it's readable, that's the main thing. * General Stuff... * 1 Shock. The best demo I've seen 1 Part 3 of NMI2 was very clever 1 GOOOOOD MORNIN' VTNM . . . But Seriously, I'm Sorry. WHY?! I hear you ask. Well there's nothing wrong, really, but I'm saying sorry cause I could have easily got two parts into one load-block, but my ST Compiler wasn't working, so I had to use a previous bit of music, which was compiled to an awkward place in memory. Also, I haven't got a decent compression thingy, and many of you have got 48k's, so I couldn't use the 128k extra memory. Ah Who Gives A Sh!t Anyway ?! For those people who are interested, This is my first 'DEMO' (which is a bit crap, I think), and I come from ENGLAND!!!, a small island in the middle of the Atlantic. {I put that in 'cause many people don't think that Speccy Demos come from here (with the exception of a few coders)} /\/\ Soon you'll be seeing the greetin's part (which is bloody annoying, as you get greetin's in EVERY demo), although this part won't have much scroll, 'cause I don't know many (any?) people who will be seeing this (all of my friends have 16-bit 1 !"#$%&'()*+,-./0123456789:;<=>?@ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~ 1 Well. This is the very last part (and it's another crap one...Just 1 Uppy/Downy scroller, and the same sound as in part 3. Sorry.). But what's all this "AN APOLOGY" crap about? Well let me explain . . . Y'see, I don't know if you've noticed, but I've apologised for everything to do with this demo so far ( The lack of sound / The flickering middle lable / The slow bit's / etc. ), and that last part was pathetic. The idea was good, I admit that, but it flickered slightly (true.). I did consider moving one bubble at a time, but I couldn't be bothered to do that. And that is what this part is for. You have probably guessed that in this part, I am going to apologise for Part 3 . . . Well, I'M NOT!!! HA! HA! IF THE FLICKER GAVE YOU A HEADACHE, TOUGH! I WILL NOT APOLOGISE FOR SOMETHING WHICH I KNEW WOULD HAPPEN WHEN I STARTED IT. Now that that's cleared up, I can get on with boring you with more text. This isn't actually the last part. Part 3 was. This part was ju 1 Well done on Bratislava Demo 1 My eyes hurt after Madhouse! 1 Geography Demo was V. Useful 1 Beruska is my Favourite demo 1 Unlimited Spirits was kewl 1 Madness Remix looked good. 1 I recently wrote off to a couple of PD libraries over here in England, but as of yet have had no reply. Mind you, I only sent off the letters a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully when I get a reply, I'll be able to get some of the demos by the people in the scrolls below. I've heard some of the older demos are excellent. Oh yeah, on the subject of the lower scrolls, I've only greeted people who have contributed to the demos I have got from the cover of Your Sinclair. This is what made me decide to start on PD. Previously, I knew it existed but didn't know much about it. Now I have various demos (including Shock by Kaz of ESI, and Mez's NMI's 2+3, all of which contain some excellent programming). I realise that my efforts are not up to the standards of many coders, but I try. (I've got some good ideas, but my skill with graphics and music isn't very high. Still, I'll persevere.) Now comes the character set, and then the scroll will begin again . . . Charact 1 Signal Part 3 is V.Kewl. 1 Adventure With Balls?!?! 1 Well, that was the font, and after that scroll, my brain is beginning to hurt, from thinking of what to write. But I'll carry on for a short while more. But what is there to say. Most of you will be already pressing SPACE, but for those of you who stayed reading, here's more text . . . . . . It was HELL creating this part. It was all working fine, but the routine to place text on the screen for scrolling didn't work. After several hours of trying other ways, I discovered that a disassembler had written over the font, so I had to start again. Then I had trouble with the music (sorry it's crap ... in a funky, skillo sort of way). I had the song saved onto disk, compiled to 45000, but I wanted it to be at 38254. I tried altering addresses in the code, but it didn't work. Y'See, my compiler isn't working. It won't compile in 128k mode, and in 48k mode you can't merge the play routine. If you can help, I would be pleased to know. I have a +3 with a Multiface 3 (I use a 1 Good ST Music! 1 See Ziutek 1 P.S. Also, the bottom scroll is upside down. I forgot that earlier. Good-Bye 1
